Today's song of the day comes from a band based out of Oklahoma. This Oklahoma City electronic pop band can be compared to sound stylings of MGMT, Hellogoodbye, Owl City, or Jack's Mannequin. LP was just released on iTunes and has sold 500 in first week. They are the current #2 unsigned band in OK, and #3 world wide for "Emotronic" genre on Myspace.

LOVE is a STORY will play at the 2009 SXSW music festival in Austin Texas in March.

Battle Cat - ADVENTURE Song of the Day

Since its mid afternoon on a Friday and I sit here at work anxiously awaiting to go home, I decided I would catch up on finding some hot new music and what better way to check out the Myspace of every band attending SXSW!

Yes indeed it is going to be a difficult task, however I am up for the challenge. I have copied the list created by Bob Boilen and pasted it into a text document on my computer. I started from the top of the list and will take the time from now until SXSW to review all of the bands.


As I just barely scratched through the "A's" I came across this band from Maryland. Their name is ADVENTURE. ADVENTURE sounds just like their name. The 8-bit sounding styling of ADVENTURE blows away any other attempts at Nintendo rock.

Their first song on their Myspace, "Battle Cat." The name and picture next to it was to perfect to not be my song of the day! This song pumps me up like He-Man. "By the Power of Grey Skull!, I HAVE THE POWER!"

Today, I was going through some of the new music to add tomorrow (Friday). Out of all the music I am going to add, this song stuck out the most. I can't stop listening to it. It is really great. I just got the album today, so its time to go home and listen to its entirety. Original single released November 2007. It was then released on August 25, 2008 as a Cd. Made UK top 200 at #12.

My First Song of the Day On The New Format

"Welcome to my new blog!
I decided I needed to continue to do my song of the day to keep me up on my music, however posting to Facebook Notes (although very useful) was a pain. I needed something seperate from facebook. Now here it is.

I Can Make You Feel It - Home Video Song of the Day: January 16, 2009

This song I came across from searching through Terrorbird Records website. They are a bad ass band from Brooklyn. Almost sounds a little like Tome Yorke with a little more Pop and Dance. Regardless, I heard this song "I Can Make You Feel It" and watched some of the band's videos online. Pretty cool stuff.
